Logan House

Logan House is a 36 bed residential drug rehabilitation facility situated in a picturesque semi rural setting on the banks of the Logan River, midway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Logan House operates as a Therapeutic Community and offers a comprehensive recovery oriented experience for persons grappling with a severe alcohol or other drug related problem.  Our goal is to support people to make  health enhancing behaviour and lifestyle changes – including, but not limited to, their drug use.

The recommended length of stay is approximately six months but a shorter program may be negotiated for those with specific needs.

Throughout their stay residents participate fully in the day to day activities of community living – including cooking, cleaning, maintenance etc.  Issues that emerge within the community are addressed and resolved by the community.

We believe that this extended immersion and engagement in the community process - responding to it’s challenges and harvesting it’s learnings - provides a powerful recovery experience.

Staff facilitate the delivery of a range of proven recovery based activities including case management, individual counseling, group work, health education, mindfulness and life-skill development.  All activities have a strong emphasis on relapse prevention.

Residents are encouraged and assisted to explore and develop community based support networks including  Alcoholics Anonymous and/or Narcotics Anonymous during their admission.

A specialist parenting  program provides intensive support for residents who are experiencing significant challenges in this area.

While contact with children and other immediate family members is actively encouraged at all times, phone calls are limited for the first ten days and leave from the program does not generally occur during the first ten weeks.

Residents who have completed the program can remain connected with Logan House in a volunteering or purely social capacity.  Those wishing more formal support  can access the services of our Continuing Care Coordinator.

To be considered for admission to Logan House you will need to be over 18 years of age and undertake an initial telephone assessment – this can be arranged by phoning (07) 55463900 during business hours.

Enquiries from persons with a mental health condition or disability is encouraged.
